Alejandra Cuesta directora de Expressarte, organizacion que viene organizando diversos y exitosos eventos artisticos y culturales en la ciudad de Londres. Alejandra y su equipo convinan lo tradicional con lo moderno, lo ancestral con lo popular, para poder asi compartir y convocar una audiencia diversa y cosmopolita londinense.
Las calaveritas de azucar son un detalle infalible en esta celebracion de la cual los Mexicanos se sienten muy orgullosos, y aunque es un aditivo nuevo para los europeos pocas veces confrontados con su propia calaverita, pues llena de misticismo y curiosidad inherente.
En esta celebracion religiosa popular, es una celebracion que se extiende entre lo mágico- ritualistico, un encuentro con el mundo del mas alla, venerando, honrando, celebrando, burlándose y bailando con la muerte- como un paso mas dentro de este infinito viaje que va mas allá de la vida.
El sincretismo con la religiosidad cristiana es parte en el paso histórico de nuestros pueblo Indo Americanos para asi asegurar y seguir manteniendo las antiguas tradiciones y la espiritualidad de nuestros ancestros y culturas madres.
Dichas celebraciones tienen diferencias y peculiaridades regionales en todo Mexico ya que tienen inflyentes de culturas madres como las Olmecas, Totonacas, Mixtecas entre tantas otras, dejandonos ver asi, que en oportunidades los muertos visitan a los vivos y viseversa para poder compartir un mismo espacio-tiempo.
Estas celebraciones mantienen viva nuestra identidad en fluida continuidad no solo en Mexico si no en todo el continente llegando a traspasar fronteras para sentirnos cerca a casa o para compartir con los amantes de nuestras tradiciones, celebrándose así en USA, Europa y otras partes del mundo.

Mexico commemorates the Day of the Dead. People believe that death is a transition from one life to another where communication exists between the living and the dead.
